Natalie Richmond
Operations Manager, Youth Emergency Center
Pronouns: She/Her/Hers
Natalie is the Operations Manager of the Youth Emergency Center. In her role, she oversees the programs, events, and daily operations of the YEC. She strives to incorporate youth feedback to ensure the YEC is queer youth-centered. Natalie also works with the Sexual Health Services team to provide HIV testing and counseling.
Natalie graduated from Rhodes College and is currently enrolled in the University of Memphis’ Master of Public Health program. As a student of public health, she has learned that health is heavily influenced by social factors including gender identity, sexual orientation, and housing. Her work at the Youth Emergency Center is done through the lens of public health. She hopes that addressing housing and other fundamental needs as well as creating a community space of affirmation will set youth up for healthy, happy lives.
When not at the YEC or studying, you can find Natalie crafting, gardening, or watching Star Trek. Quilting is her favorite craft to do while listening to audiobooks; she highly recommends Star Wars audiobooks read by Marc Thompson. Her garden is filled with some of her favorite plants: pulmonaria, coral bells, ferns, and bleeding hearts. Star Trek: Voyager is her favorite series so far.
