Becky Hall is the Director of Finance and Operations at OUTMemphis. She grew up in Trumann, Arkansas and lives with her partner Melissa in Bartlett. Her work includes managing the financial aspects, information technology, human resources, and administrative operations work of the organization, and she comes to OUTMemphis with 30 years of experience. Behind the scenes, Becky is the maestro that keeps the music going, providing expert support to all programs, services, and activities at OUTMemphis. After years working in the healthcare sector, Becky jumped at the chance to use her skills to serve her LGBTQ family. “I never know who we’ll be able to help today. I get to give back to a community I’ve always belonged to but have never been able to support in this way.” Becky was drawn to OUTMemphis because she saw the potential that OUTMemphis has to change the lives of LGBTQ people growing up in Southern small towns as she had. “Growing up without internet in a small town, you can’t just tell people what you are feeling or ask them if they are like you. Everyone knows everyone else and that just isn’t safe.” She sees community centers like OUTMemphis as critical resources for our people, and is excited to support the growth of programs and services as they expand to meet the diverse, critical needs of our community members. “We need equal rights. They shouldn’t still be able to fire us. We aren’t there yet.”
