Light Up the Night for Peace
Dec 13 @ 5:15 pm – 7:00 pm

Light Up the Night for Peace is a vigil being held by Mom’s Demand Action in conjunction with First Congo Church to remember all of the victims of gun violence in Memphis in 2018 by name. We will also be honoring the 6th anniversary of the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

The vigil will begin at 5:15PM on Thursday, December 13th in the sanctuary at First Congo Church, located at 1000 South Cooper just a few blocks down the street from OUTMemphis. Jonathan Ealy, our Interim Executive Director, has been asked to speak at this vigil.

Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America is a national, grassroots, non-partisan gun violence prevention organization made up of American Moms, dads, and supporters who believe we can support the Second Amendment while doing more to keep guns out of the hands of dangerous people. Together with Everytown for Gun Safety and Mayors Against Illegal Guns they have over 3.5 million members and are growing since their inception following Sandy Hook. Their goal is to save lives and change the culture of gun violence which kills over 96 Americans per day.

If you would like to attend this vigil, please visit the Facebook event for more information.

Love Sessions: Session 1
Dec 19 @ 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm

Love Sessions

These sessions are built to open the door to conversations that go untouched. What energy am I bringing into the relationship? What are my boundaries and how do I efficiently communicate them with my partner? What does a toxic relationship look like? How do I pick up on red flags? Through these sessions there will be conversations not lectures about how to provide yourself with some TLC and making sure you are at your best to be good partner for your next or current relationship.

This will be brought to you by the Healing Rainbow which is a collaboration of agencies in Memphis, TN to help bring awareness and education to the LGBTQ Community.

These sessions will be duplicated in different locations in order to ensure accessibility for as many people as possible. Times and locations for duplicate sessions can be found on this calendar.
