June is National LGBTQ Pride Month, and as such OUTMemphis will be spotlighting one LGBTQ person who changed the world each week. This week, we will be spotlighting Bamby Salcedo.
Bamby Salcedo
Bamby Salcedo has built her life around advocating for equality and equity for others. Bamby is a transgender, Latina, HIV+ figure, and those are the three biggest areas of identity that she has focused her activism work on. Bamby has been recognized multiple times for her work in bringing justice and equality to the table, including being honored by Lambda Legal, The Black & Hispanic Gay Coalition, The City of West Hollywood, and many others. Salcedo is a member of many organizations doing social justice work, including Angels of Change, Unidas LGBT, and National Youth Advocacy Coalition, and the TransLatin@ Coalition. Bamby refers to herself as a “Community Investment”,
