OUTMemphis is proud to announce that Sarah Hairston will join the staff as Executive Assistant and Stephanie Reyes will transition from her current position as Youth Services Director into her new role as Director of Development.
Sarah Hairston is no stranger to OUTMemphis. She comes to us with a Masters of Arts in Religion, Pastoral Care, Women’s Studies, and Narrative Theory from Chicago Theological Seminary.
Currently, she is finishing her second Masters degree, this time in Social Work, and has served as an MSW intern with the Youth Services Program at OUTMemphis for the last eight months. She joined the intern team after completing a 10 month internship with Community Alliance for the Homeless, where she provided technical assistance to the housing and homelessness system of care in Memphis.
Ms. Hairston will provide critical support to our Executive Director and help lay the groundwork for the center’s large upcoming projects.
Stephanie Reyes joined the OUTMemphis staff team in 2014 as the Youth Services Manager. In that time, she has made an incredible impact on the community center, the city of Memphis, and the lives of LGBTQ teens and young adults.
She is best known for her work to end youth homelessness in Memphis through the Metamorphosis Project. As a part of this effort, Reyes created and executed a fundraising plan to support a homeless youth shelter, worked to secure OUTMemphis’s first federal grant with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, engaged local foundations, and worked with community groups like Mystic Krewe of Pegasus to ensure that the dream of ending youth homelessness was one that everyone could help make a reality.
We are excited to welcome her into this new role at OUTMemphis.
