This past week (Thursday 8/15 & Friday 8/16), the staff at OUTMemphis took some time for a small retreat. This retreat had several purposes, but the most important one was to allow space for the staff to bond, to assess performance and programs, and to come up with goals for the future.
Planned Parenthood was gracious enough to host this excursion in their lovely, newly-renovated conference space. During our time there, we did a deep-dive into staff accomplishments over the past few years, opportunities for improvement moving forward, creating goals for 2020 and beyond, as well as a plethora of team-building exercises facilitated by Bev Vitali from Christian Brothers University and Darin Hollingsworth, a freelance professional coach for non-profits.
The staff also had the chance to bond outside of conference room with a trip through the Stax Museum of American Soul in an effort to help us all understand the history of the city we serve a little better. We also had the opportunity to unwind on Friday evening with a pool party hosted by Board Member Carol Livingston and her husband Dell.
