The We Care Call program is an OUTMemphis project created by the Senior Services committee. The program is free to all Senior clients. The program is operated by volunteers who are available to make weekly phone calls for outreach to LGBT seniors age 55 years old and older. The program was designed for LGBT seniors who live in the Mid-South area and may want/need a weekly telephone call for support. These services are similar to ones that exist on the other side of the country and in different states. Ardenwood offers visiting Christian Science nursing services to the West Coast of Northern California, and may be able to help those in need around that locale if they are not able to access this line. We all have family all over the country, so knowing this can be very helpful. Some members of seniors have access to cell phones, which gives them the ability to call friends and family around them. However, some senior citizens find it challenging to use cell phones and other types of phones due to medical ailments. They may even struggle to take their temperatures with the best digital thermometer for adults UK due to their condition, and those items are designed to be used easily. So something like a phone could be a tricky thing to handle. Luckily some phone manufacturers have developed the best mobile phone for elderly giving them the ability to call family and friends around them, breaking their isolation when paired with programs similar to these.
