OUTMemphis is looking for dedicated facilitators for our two trans-focused peer-led social support groups that meet weekly. Because these groups are trans-focused peer-led spaces, facilitators should also be members of the Trans/GNC community. If you are comfortable leading discussions, planning discussion topics, and dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming environment for trans community members to socialize, meet peers, and discuss difficult issues they are facing in their lives, then you’re who we’re looking for! Please contact us (information below) and let us know your interest in facilitating one of these specific groups.
The two groups seeking new facilitators are Perpetual Transition (PT) and Delta Trans Masculine (DTM)
Perpetual Transition
Perpetual Transition is our core Transgender Services peer-led community group, meeting continuously since 2005. PT is a safe and welcoming space for transgender folks of any flavor, identity, expression, or gender to meet and socialize with other like-minded individuals.
PT is open to anyone who identifies as transgender or is questioning, and is a safe and confidential space to ask questions, meet other people, and form bonds with the Memphis transgender community.
Meeting Time
Every Monday, 6:00p-8:00p
Delta Trans Masculine
Delta Trans Masculine is a peer-led community social group for trans and gender non-conforming folks who identify more on the masculine side of the spectrum. This is a safe place for transmasculine folks to be authentically themselves around like-minded people who share similar identities. This group is open to friends, family, partners, spouses, and supportive allies as well.
Meeting Time
Every Friday, 5:30-6:30 PM
All facilitators must attend a one hour volunteer orientation to help them get acquainted with OUTMemphis, our organizational culture, and programs offered.
If you are interested in becoming a facilitator for one of these groups, please contact us via email to learn more!
