We Care Calls Volunteer Orientation

This is the volunteer training for the We Care Calls program. If you are LGBTQ, 55+ years of age, and interested in serving as a supportive peer for a fellow senior, please email us for more information.

Perpetual Transition

Perpetual Transition is our core Transgender Services peer-led community group. PT is a safe and welcoming space for transgender folks of any flavor, identity, expression, or gender to meet and socialize with other like-minded individuals.
PT is open to anyone who identifies as transgender or is questioning, and is a safe and confidential space to ask questions and meet other people.

TUESDAY 6/11
Volunteer Orientation

This is a training to familiarize new volunteers with the organization, and to allow them to ask questions. All new volunteers for OUTMemphis must attend this training before working shifts. These trainings occur the second and fourth Tuesday evening of the month. These trainings are RSVP only.

WEDNESDAY 6/12
Pulse Vigil

June 12th marks three-years since the horrific shooting at Pulse Night Club in Orlando, FL that took the lives of 49 people celebrating Latin Night during Pride Month. The victims were overwhelmingly Latinx, LGBTQ young people.
Please join us on Wednesday June 12th @ OUTMemphis from 6:30 pm- 7:30 pm for the 3rd year remembrance of the Pulse Massacre where we will address hate, violence, bullying, and safety in our community and give voice to the intersection of race, gender, and sexuality.
Use the hashtag #HonorThemWithAction to show your commitment to end anti- LGBTQ bigotry in our community and not just LGBTQ but to put an end to bigotry and discrimination of all kinds.

Meristem Book Club
NOTE: Meristem will be meeting half an hour late because of the Pulse Vigil.

Each month, Meristem reads and explores a different written work by women, LGBTQ, and feminist authors and to foster a community of support with like-minded women.
Meristem is open to lesbian, bi/pansexual, trans, and allied women of all gender identities and expressions.

PRYSM

PRYSM is a safe, welcoming space for 13-17 year-olds to meet friends and get support.
PRYSM was engineered as a space for young LGBTQ and Ally teens to socialize with each other and have fun in a safe, affirming, supportive environment.
SUNDAY 6/16
FU;BU (For Us; By Us)

FU;BU is a peer-led community social group for same-gender loving (SGL) men of color. The primary goal of FU;BU is to foster a safe, creative, and positive space for SGL men of color. FU;BU aims to build positive relationships with self and community through great conversation, while providing a forum for community building and socializing.

Trans ID Workshop

The Trans ID Workshop is designed to help transgender individuals navigate the the legal documentation and processes of transitioning, including name change, gender markers, and other such paperwork. Where applicable, blank documents and applications will be provided as part of the workshop.
